Aidan's Recent Adventures / As Aventuras Recentes de Aidan

English version: Aidan turned 6 months on Sep 29 and his life continues to be filled with great adventures. We highlight a few of his adventures with the images below.

- Aidan has been getting increasingly fascinated with his index finger and thumb, as shown below. This discovery has allowed Aidan to manipulate objects in a more gentle and controlled manner as well as allowing him to grab smaller objects.

- Aidan's interest towards his peers has also increased. See how cute Aidan and Colt (friend from our "Mommy & Me" group) look hanging out in Aidan's room.

- Aidan has also been trying different vegetable purees we make for him. Pictured below we have Aidan politely accepting the peas offered by his Dad. It took 5 consecutive days of pea exposure for Aidan to eat the peas without making a face (lol). With zucchini, however, the acceptance was faster, especially when Aidan was able to "feed himself" (as shown below) and then explore how the container's lid opens and closes. What an inquisitive little boy! :-)

- Aidan was also a super big boy when we took him out to have dinner in a local sushi restaurant. He stayed seated in the high chair for most of the dinner and, when the sushi platter arrived, he looked at it, probably thinking: "Am I supposed to eat this too? Thank goodness there's Sapporo beer to help get this sushi down." (lol). The evening ended at the dessert store next door with cupcakes, of course. ;-)

Versao portugues: Aidan completou 6 meses no dia 29 de Setembro e sua vida continua repleta de aventuras. Retratamos abaixo algumas das aventuras de Aidan.

- Aidan tem ficado cada dia mais fascinado com seu dedo polegar e seu dedo indicador, tal como retratado na foto abaixo. Essa descoberta tem permitido Aidan manipular objetos de forma mais gentil e controlada bem como permitindo-o pegar objetos menores.

- Aidan tambem tem aumentado seu interesse pelos "coleguinhas." Vejam que fofura Aidan "brincando" com Colt (seu coleguinha do grupo "Eu & Mamame" que atendemos), no quarto de Aidan

- Aidan tem experimentado diferentes pures de vegetais que fazemos para ele. As fotos abaixo mostram Aidan aceitando educadamente o pure de ervilha que o Papai oferece. Tivemos que expor Aidan ao pure de ervilhas por 5 dias consecutivos para que ele comecar a aceitar as ervilhas sem careta (rsrsrs). Com a abobrinha a historia foi diferente: Aidan aceitou com muito entusiasmo, especialmente quando ele estava "se alimentando" (ver foto abaixo) e depois pode explorar a tampinha do potinho, fechando-a e abrindo-a. Que menino danadinho! :-)

- Aidan se comportou bem no restaurante japones qdo. saimos para jantar. Ele ficou sentadinho na sua cadeirinha por um tempao e quando o prato de sushi chegou na mesa, ele ficou olhando, abismado e provavelmente pensando: "Serah que vou ter que comer isso tambem? Ainda bem que tem uma cervejinha Sapporo para ajudar descer." (rsrsrs) O jantar terminou na lojinha de sobremesas ao lado do restaurante com um bolinho ("cup cake"), claro. ;-)

English version: Another week has passed and Aidan continues to explode developmentally... In three days, he'll be 6 months-old, can you believe it? With independent sitting came lots of other fun activities such as sitting at the table with us and playing with his toys in his crib while sitting... Aidan also started with his soccer practices - and it looks like he'll be a lefty, huh? Check out his smooth moves on the ball!!! ;-)

Versao portugues: Mais uma semana se passou e Aidan continua explodindo em seu desenvolvimento... Em tres dias, ele completara 6 meses de vida, podem acreditar nisso? Com o desenvolvimento de se sentar sozinho veio tambem outras atividades super legais tal como se sentar na mesa com a gente e ficar brincando, sentandinho, no seu berco. Aidan tambem comecou a praticar futebol - e nos parece que ele serah canhoto, hein? Vejam a jinga dele com a bola!!! ;-)

English version: The photos below highlight a few of Aidan's developmental "tasks" such as sitting upright independently, enjoying his doggies more and more, falling asleep on his Madrinha Rachelle's (GodMother Rachelle) lap, cuddling up with his baby cousin Ryan, going wine tasting (hehehe), exercising his legs even more in his jumper, and being grumpy (instead of crying) as he resists sleep in his car seat. What a joy has been growing up with Aidan. We love you so very much, son!!!

Que delicia tem sido crescer com Aidan. Nos te amamos muito muito mesmo, filho!!!

Aidan's Baptism / Batismo de Aidan

English version: On Saturday, September 5, 2009, 11:30AM, Aidan was baptized by our friend and Minister Kent (also Cami's fiancee). It was a private and warm ceremony held in our home. Present were God-Mothers Cami & Rachelle (and spouses), God-Father Sam (and spouse & 17-month-old son Shane), and immediate Garvey family (Grand-Pa Garvey, Grand-Ma Linda, Aunt Kate and cousins Lucas & Ryan). Following the ceremony, we had "feijoada" (a Brazilian black bean stew Andrea made) and a delicious ice cream cake (chocolate, strawberry and vanilla) for dessert. Our home was filled with love thanks to all present. THANK YOU for all of your love and warmth!!! :-)

Versao portugues: No Sabado, 5 de Setembro de 2009, 11:30hrs, Aidan foi batizado pelo nosso amigo e Ministro Kent (noivo de Cami). A cerimonia foi aconchegante e efetuada em nossa casa. Presentes estavam as Madrinhas Cami & Rachelle (e seus esposos), Padrinho Sam (e sua esposa e filho de 17-meses, Shane), e os Garveys (Vovo Garvey, Vovo Linda, Tia Kate e priminhos Lucas & Ryan). Apos a cerimonia, almocamos feijoada completa (feita por Andrea) e, de sobremesa, um bolo de sorvete estilo napolitano super delicioso (chocolate, morango e creme). O nosso lar estava carregado de amor gracas `aqueles presentes. OBRIGADA pelo seu amor e carinho!!! :-)
